Sammy Hagar recently announced his upcoming Best of All Worlds Tour, featuring bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham, and guitarist Joe Satriani. He then went on The Howard Stern Show and said that he’s inviting musicians in every town to join them on stage, and that included David Lee Roth.

Given the duo’s tumultuous past and public digs towards each other, Hagar was asked in another interview if Roth would be welcome to join the full tour.

“If Alex Van Halen wants to jump up, if David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us… You are welcome. This is about Van Halen.” Hagar emphasized that Roth would be welcome as a guest only, not to join the whole tour. “He can come out and sing a song on a show or two,” he said, “if he can remember the words.”

In a statement posted later by Van Halen News Desk, Roth was quoted as saying “I’m ready to go. Let’s do this.”

The 28-date tour will focus largely on Van Halen music, including deep cuts that haven’t been heard live in years.
